Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Louby is a workbook app for young children. A parent or teacher makes the account; children only play. This page says what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address and the name you give us. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us. If you use a password, it is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider.
- Learners you add. A name or nickname and a grade level for each child. You choose what to call them; a first name or nickname is enough.
- Progress. Which pages each learner has finished and which chapters they have unlocked, so the books remember where they left off.
- Payments. If you buy Louby Pro, Stripe handles the payment. We never see or store your card number; we keep only a record that your account is Pro.
What we do not collect
- We do not ask children for any personal information. Children do not have accounts.
- We do not record voices, photos, or drawings. Tracing and drawing stay in the browser.
- We do not use analytics or tracking services, and we never show ads based on what you or your child do online.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
How we use it
Only to run Louby: to sign you in, show your learners their books, save their progress, and unlock Pro. We may email you about your account (for example, to confirm your email address).
Who helps us run Louby
- Supabase stores accounts, learners, and progress, and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose "Continue with Google".
- Stripe handles payments if you buy Louby Pro.
- Google AdSense shows the ads that keep Louby free. We tell Google that Louby is made for children, so Google shows only non-personalized ads: ads chosen from the page, not from a profile of you or your child.
Cookies and storage
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. Your browser also remembers whether you turned the narrator's voice off. Google AdSense may set its own cookies to show ads, count them, and stop fraud. Because Louby is made for children, Google does not use them for personalized ads. See how Google uses cookies in advertising.
Deleting your information
You can delete your whole account yourself at any time. Open the grown-ups menu, choose Account, and follow the steps. This deletes every learner and all their progress right away.
To delete just one learner, or for help, email chris@loubylabs.com from the address on the account, and we will do it within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
